Who is it good for and way?

The idea for Nammu came from a real need that had not yet been addressed in the marketplace.

As a mother of 3 active children, that from a very young age loved to swim, I went in search of a UV protective swim cap that would protect their heads from the sun, while in and around the pool.

A regular baseball cap or hat wouldn’t do, as they are not waterproof, nor are they considered appropriate “swimming attire” while in a pool and/or diving. They would even fall off while we were at a waterpark or splash pad. So I then tried a regular swim cap, but my children would not wear them because they did not look “cool”.

As my eldest child has a brown beauty mark on his head, staying in the sun with his head unprotected was dangerous. After trying many different types of hats, and a long and exhausting search, I realized that no such product existed, and I was determined to find a solution.

Everywhere we went, whether it was a swimming pool, Water Park, water slides, or splash pads, I noticed that most children were wearing UV protected swim suits, shirts and shorts, but because they were in and around water, most of them were not wearing hats.

This is when I came up with the idea for Nammu. Why not take the same UV protection material being used for other outdoor attire and use it to make a cool, stylish, functional, comfortable, UV protected swim cap? One that would be guaranteed not to fall off while in water…and thus the idea of Nammu was born.
