All about Nammu and how did it all start

Nammu is the result of a real life need for three active, swim-loving boys.
Those three boys are my children. Like most kids, they love to spend hours in the sun, swimming, diving, splashing and playing in the water. As a mom, I was very worried about them spending so much time in the sun, exposed to harmful UV ray which can penetrate and magnify under water. Of course their bodies were well protected with sun blocking swimwear and UVA and UVB sunscreen lotion, but their cute little heads were exposed to sun all the long time they are in the water.
They needed protection!
I was even more concerned when I found out that my older son had brown spots on his head and they were growing in size. I knew I had to find a solution for sun protection in the water. I searched for a sun hat they could wear while in the water. I tried many different hats, but none of them worked. Most of the hats would simply fall off in the water and those with a visor would be obstructive. Cotton bandannas and other wraps just got soggy or quickly filled up with water and fell off their heads. I even tried a silicon swim cap but that wasn’t comfortable for playing and swimming in the sun, and Lycra (spandex), although comfortable on the head, did not pass the “cool” test, and my kids refused to wear it.
While searching for the perfect solutions for under water head sun protection, it became abundantly clear, no matter where we went, anywhere around water, the beach, swimming pools, water parks or splash pads, even though most kids and adults wore UV protective swim suits and sunscreen lotion, few people wore a head cover. The UV protective head gear was either not effective or nonexistent!!

The solution

And, so, Nammu was born. It was envisioned as fashionable sun protecting swimming cap that can stay on your head all day long! It has passed my kids’ rigorous testing, and my friends too. I am sure it will pass your test as well.
