Hi, I’m Atar, the creator of Nammu Hats.

The idea for Nammu didn’t start in a boardroom; it started at the pool with my three active kids. Like any mother, I was diligent about sun safety, but I soon realized that while their bodies were covered, their heads were completely vulnerable.

This became imperative for me when I discovered sun spots on my oldest son’s scalp. I searched everywhere for a solution, but the options were frustrating:

• Baseball caps got heavy and soggy.

• Wide-brim hats flopped over their eyes the moment they started to play.

• Everything else floated away the second they dove into the water.

I needed a solution that was UPF 50+ safe, comfortable for all-day wear, and secure enough to stay on during a cannonball. Crucially, it had to look cool—otherwise, my boys simply wouldn’t wear it.

When I realized the perfect hat didn’t exist, I decided to make it myself.
