My family of 3 kids loves swimming, at the beach ocean, swimming pools and lakes. We also love watersports such as snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking and canoeing. We spend a lot of time outdoors in the sunshine, and I am always concerned about having the proper sun protection for them. I am going to my family doctor next week so I thought I would bring up sun protection, as maybe he has some ideas, besides sunscreen and baseball hats.
At my doctor’s appointment, he told me he knows of this Canadian company called nammu swimming hats, which also has shirts, and this product provides excellent sun protection over 50 SPF. He told me they fit comfortably, look stylish, and he wears nammu himself and has never been sunburnt on his head, neck and ears, as well as his upper body while wearing a sun-protective shirt.
The doctor went on to say that he recommends nammu to some of his patients who are experiencing health issues, The doctor explained to me that nammu works very well with cochlear implants for swimming and playing in the water. He also has patients with alopecia and some who are going through chemotherapy. My doctor is a bald man, so he uses nammu all the time and loves the comfort, and how the hats can be worn for extended periods of time.
When I returned home, knowing we were planning a family vacation, we all sat down and explored the nammu website, There was so much information on the website, and many different styles and colours. To choose from. We each decided to buy 2 hats each, one with a visor and the other one without. I also decided to buy myself a swim shirt, to wear in the ocean when I swim. The nammu order came within a week, and we all did a little fashion show and were delighted with how good the hats looked and how comfortably they fit.
