I have been swimming all my life. I mostly love swimming long distances in the lakes, rivers or oceans. I learned to swim when I was very young in a pool and fell in love with the sport. Eventually, I would enter some swimming competitions for lap swimming and be quite successful. I remember that I would always have the challenge of finding a swim hat that was comfortable, durable and would not slide on my bald head.  I did not like the rubber or silicone hats that were on the market. For years I would swim with these types of swim hats, but I never really felt comfortable.  My kid wears cochlear implants,  and his doctor told me about this website called nammu hats out of Canada.  I read some of the reviews for people who wear nammu to support their implants while during water activity.  I decided to call nammu to get some more information as I thought perhaps nammu would work for me as well. The person at nammu gave me all the information I needed to make a purchase for my son and myself.

I bought two extra-large nammu with earflaps plus visor and two regular size nammu for my son.

The order came to us in Tennessee, in a week, and both I and my son tried on the nammu in the pool.  We gave the nammu hats a rigorous test in and out of the water, jumping off the diving board, and our nammu hats stayed on. There is a tie at the back for extra support, which was great for my son’s cochlear implants.  He could not stop looking in the mirror at how cool he thought he looked with this hat.  It seemed to give him confidence and security with the implants. For myself, I was quite pleased and will use the nammu for my next long swim.

My son decided to have a little backyard swim party with some of his friends.  We sported our nammu hats together, and all the kids loved the style, and of course, the parents loved the sun protection.  At the next pool get-together near the end of the season, we had all the kids back for a late summer swim, and every one of my son’s friends was wearing nammu. I took some pictures of the various styles and colours of nammu that they wore and sent a picture to nammu sun protection who posted it on their website
