Hello, My name is Dr. Gustav, and I work in Toronto Canada, as a practitioner physician. Every year when I come down to California for this wonderful conference, I try to come up with a special theme to discuss. This year, I have decided to focus on sun protection. I have many patients who suffer from a variety of health issues, which include, melanoma, cancer,, alopecia, and patients who wear cochlear implants. As well, to these patients with health issues, I also have many who are healthy and are always worried about keeping their heads protected from the sun. Many of my patients are young children, teenagers and adults with hair and bald. I have spoken with many people and they tell me it’s hard to find good comfortable sun protection while in and out of the water, that they can wear for long periods of time. Baseball caps, and other headwear, just do not seem to cut it. A patient came into my office who wears cochlear implants. She told me about a company called nammu sun protection that makes a simple but unique sun protective hat that works very well with her cochlear implants. As well, she is a swimmer and uses nammu for activities in and out of the water for hours at a time, She continued with enthusiasm, about how while wearing nammu, she never had a sunburn, and the nammu keeps her cochlear implants securely in place and she can enjoy outdoor activities for hours at a time.

I decided to do a survey with my patients over a 2 month period. A survey of customers who would wear nammu hats, when they were conducting outdoor activities on vacation or where they live. I made a list of some of the activities that they can use nammu sun protective hats, which I will provide to you, my gracious audience.
For a little background on Nammu, there are many colours and styles. Nammu has regular size, extra-large, and extra small for babies. There are hats with and without a visor, neck protection and earflaps. The hats are completely protected from the sun, comfortable to wear, dry fast, and have a tie at the back for extra comfort.
