My name is Iglesias and I work in a resort in Cuba taking vacationers out on the sailboat where they can go snorkelling at the many coral reefs in front of the resort. My sailboat is not covered so I am always educating the importance of sun protection for the head. The customers wear many different forms of hats, and of course, somewhere nothing and they pay the price later from sunburn, They tell me the hat they wear is not comfortable, it’s difficult to wear when snorkelling, and the hats do not try fast enough. The next day a couple came up to my sales hut to book a snorkel and sail trip. This couple looked good wearing these cool-looking sun protection hats, they matched their apparel, and they were very enthusiastic to go on my sailboat.
I asked them where I could find such a hat, as they looked very well protected from the sun. The hat had a visor, earflaps and neck protection. They were white and pink, with a nice ribbon lining around the centre of the hat. They told me they bought this sun protection hat from a Canadian company called nammu, and the logo was on the hat. They found this company a few years ago whole on a scuba diving trip in Cozumel. There were some divers on the boat wearing nammu, and they were quite satisfied with the product. The divers tried many other hats, but everyone they tried had a flaw. They told me that nammu was the perfect solution.
The hats were great to protect from the sun on the dive boat. The mask fit well with the nammu, offered neck protection, and the earflaps were great for protecting the ears underwater. One f the divers told me then that he was susceptible to ear infections. He said that once he started to dive with nammu, he never experienced an ear infection again. The travellers also told me that the nammu can be worn for long periods of time in any activity and they stay on the head comfortably. They had some spare nammu hats with them and generously gave me one to wear. I was impressed and wore it every day. I will always remember this happy couple and their thoughtfulness. Going forward, many of my clients would ask me about nammu, and I gladly gave them the nammu website. A few months later, I took a different couple out on an excursion, and they were wearing nammu.
